Don’t make everything harder at once

Here’s a simple rule for getting stronger without getting hurt:

Don’t make everything harder at once.

Let’s say you’re deadlifting.

You could…

Add weight.

Add reps.

Add a set.

Increase the range of motion.

Move the weight faster.

Use a more challenging variation.

All of those can be forms of progression.

But here’s where people get themselves into trouble.

They add weight…

AND reps…

AND another set…

AND decide they’re finally going to pull from the floor.

Now we didn’t progress the exercise.

We changed four things at once.

I’d rather change one variable…

See how your body responds…

Then decide what we’ve earned next.

Progress doesn’t have to be dramatic to work.

It just has to keep happening.

Want to Get Stronger Without Guessing What to Progress Next?

Here’s where most people get themselves into trouble:

They don’t just make the exercise a little harder.

They add weight. Add reps. Add another set. Change the exercise. And then wonder why their back, knees, or shoulders start complaining.

You don’t need a harder workout.

You need the right amount of progression at the right time.

That’s exactly what I do with my clients over 50.

We start where you are. We change one thing at a time. We see how your body responds. And then we decide what you’ve earned next.

If you’d rather stop guessing and have me build the progression for you:
