Imagine Who You Want To Be

Ella decided she wanted to pretend “Grandma” the other day.

ella grandma

Not Maw Maw Ella.

Not Grandma Ella.

Just…

Grandma.

She’s very particular.

So naturally, I put Grandma to work.

I had her bring me some milk.

A toy.

Goldfish.

A blanket.

And at one point she even kissed the boo-boo on my elbow.

It was one of the funniest things I’ve ever been a part of.

And I love her imagination.

One minute she’s Grandma.

The next she’s a dinosaur.

Tomorrow she’ll probably be something neither of us has thought of yet.

I think that’s one of the things we slowly lose as adults.

Not pretending to be dinosaurs, necessarily.

But imagining ourselves differently than we are right now.

Being stronger.

Moving without everything hurting.

Getting down on the floor again.

Walking a mile.

Doing something you’ve quietly decided probably isn’t for you anymore.

Train smart.

Train consistently.

Train persistently.

Can’t lose.

What Have You Quietly Decided You Can’t Do Anymore?

Maybe it’s getting off the floor.

Walking a mile.

Traveling without worrying about your knees, hips or back.

Or simply feeling strong again.

Here’s the problem:

If you keep waiting until you magically feel younger, healthier or more confident before you start… you may be waiting a very long time.

You don’t need to become 30 again.

You need a training plan built for the body you have today — one that helps you become stronger, more capable and more confident without beating up your joints in the process.

That is exactly what my personal training program for adults over 50 in Austin is designed to do.
