Why Your Fitness Plan Should Be as Unique as You

"Custom fitness plans for adults over 50 designed by an Austin personal trainer who believes in personalizing every journey."

Yesterday, I took Ella to Indigo Play—a 3-story playscape filled with sensory rooms, giant building blocks, and a maze of fun activities.

The perfect toddler paradise, right?

But what does Ella do?
She strolls right past the playscape, skips the sensory room, and makes a beeline for… the storage closet. Of course.
From there, she inspected the stairs to what must’ve been the employee breakroom and even tried to tour the restrooms.

Eventually, we made it back to the playscape and had a blast, but Ella’s self-guided “tour” reminded me of someone else—my Maw Maw Leena.

Years ago, I took my grandma to the Texas State Capitol.
When we arrived, I noticed a tour about to start and asked, “Maw Maw, want to join the group?”
She replied, “Naw, son, we’ll give ourselves our own tour.”

And we did—room to room, office to office, with Maw Maw twisting every doorknob and inspecting desks like she was at a yard sale. She had no concern about following the crowd and just did her thing.

Turns out, Ella inherited more than just her looks.

What’s funny is how much this reminds me of personal training.
Everyone’s fitness journey should feel personal.

Some people love group classes or pre-made programs. They’re like the folks happily following along on the Capitol tour.
But others? They need something tailored to their unique goals, bodies, and preferences.

And that’s especially true for the 50+ crowd.
At this stage of life, a cookie-cutter plan won’t cut it.

That’s why I design fitness programs that:

  • Meet you where you are: Your plan starts with your current fitness level and goals—not a generic template.
  • Focus on function and balance: Helping you move better, reduce pain, and feel stronger in everyday life.
  • Are built for real life: Your program should fit into your routine, not feel like an impossible chore.
  • Give you confidence: You’ll know you’re doing the right exercises, the right way, for the right results.

Because here’s the truth: The best fitness plan is the one that works for you.
