You know lifting weights is basically the fountain of youth, right?
It helps prevent bone loss.
Slows cognitive decline.
Improves mood, energy, metabolism—and that’s just scratching the surface.
There are dozens of research-backed reasons to do it.
But that’s not the problem.
The problem is that most people who try strength training… get hurt.
Even with a personal trainer.
Even doing a “safe” program.
And that sucks.
Because you don’t stop lifting because you’re weak.
You stop because you’re injured.
Let’s change that.
There are a ton of ways to lift—at home, in a gym, in a group, with a coach.
And they’re all great… for the right person.
But peanut butter is also great. Unless you’re allergic.
Then it’s dangerous.
Same with workouts.
The key is finding the right fit for you.
Let’s walk through the options:
- Home workouts with no equipment
Great if you’re just starting out or already really fit.
But anything in between? You’ll probably outgrow it fast—or get frustrated before you even begin. - Gym membership or home gym
Ideal if you already know what you’re doing, feel confident in the gym, and don’t have any injuries to work around.
(Also assumes you’ll hold yourself accountable without help.) - Bootcamps or group classes
Great if you want to lose a bunch of weight, have no major joint issues, and need external motivation.
Not so great if your shoulder’s been cranky since 2004 and your knees don’t love jumping jacks. - Small group training
A solid middle ground: less people per coach, some ability to modify exercises, lots of accountability.
But most people reading this aren’t total beginners or gym rats.
You’re somewhere in the middle—where things get tricky:
You’ve done something before, but every time you try to start again, an old knee flares up.
Or your shoulder whispers “not today” the second you pick up a dumbbell.
You’re motivated, but cautious—because last time, that “safe” program left you limping.
And you’re tired of workouts that treat everyone like a 22-year-old meathead trying to prove something.
That’s exactly why I built 50 STRONG.
It’s semi-private personal training for adults 50+ who want to get stronger—without getting hurt again.
We use the same scientific principles elite athletes use to stay in the game:
✔ Progressive overload (but scaled to your body)
✔ Smarter exercise choices (based on your joints and movement screen)
✔ Built-in recovery weeks so you can make progress without breaking down
Bottom line?
This isn’t about lifting the heaviest weight possible.
It’s about building a body you can trust—so you can keep doing the things you love.
Whether that’s golfing without ibuprofen, hiking without knee braces, or hauling mulch without regretting it for three days.
Spots for 50 STRONG close Tuesday, July 15.
After that, I’m shifting all my focus to the people who signed up—because if you’re trusting me with your body, I’m going to give you everything I’ve got.
Ready to Train Smarter — Not Just Harder?
Look, you’ve wasted enough time chasing programs that treat you like a 22-year-old gym bro. If you’re serious about building a body that can handle real life — without injuries, setbacks, or starting over every few months — it’s time to do something different.
Join my Stronger After 50 Program. It’s the same system I use with private clients here in Austin to keep them strong, safe, and doing what they love — from golf to grandkids — without regret the next day.
Not Quite Ready Yet?
