Why Is It Easier For Me To Track Workouts More Than My Diet?

Welp, this is a common problem to have.

The biggest reason could be that when you exercise, you get some immediate gratification in the form of serotonin and dopamine. You feel better about yourself and in general almost immediately.

With food, all of the feel-good stuff is generally weeks, if not years away.

What’s ironic is that while the “I feel better from good food” takes longer to perceive, the effects are inarguably 100x’s greater.

The best workaround to get better at eating good food is two-fold:

1. Set a goal date (four to six weeks is a great time frame to start).
2. Don’t break the streak.

Pick an end date no longer than eight weeks and only eat real food while avoiding caloric beverages. Even if it is only seven days you will still notice a difference but ideally, you will REALLY see some changes in twenty-one days.

Put a big ole X or checkmark in your calendar every day you complete your goal. Now, how many days in a row can you go without breaking your streak?

The “win the day” method will help you release similar “feel good” hormones to give you more immediate gratification so you increase your chance of reaching the goal date. When you reach the goal date you will have the proof in your pant sizes and mirrors to know this stuff works and make it more of a lifestyle going forward.
