When’s The Off-Season?
These are all GREAT forms of exercise. Fun, dynamic in nature, and accessible for most.
But, there is one drawback. It’s easy to start each of these activities and odds are you are not a professional athlete so you would never consider taking an off-season. You would engage in these games and activities year-round, leading to repetitive use injuries.
It seems logical to take an off-season when you stop and think about it. Professional athletes do it to let their bodies rest. If they need to let their bodies rest, then it only makes sense that we too would take the same approach.
It doesn’t need to be complex.
I would prefer that you lift weights in your off-season so that you come back stronger and better after a few weeks, but simply rotating activities could do wonders as well.
The important thing is to interrupt the repetitiveness of choosing only one of these options every day of every week of every year.
