The gym is busy today so I am unable to continue with our exercise progression system…it will just have to wait until it’s a little quieter tomorrow.
Instead, I thought I would answer a client question I got last week.
“I struggled with my meal planning last week because my schedule varies so much. What should I do?”
I get it.
Schedules and life can change so much that it can be a challenge to stay prepared.
That’s why I like to simplify things.
There seems to me that are only 2 situations in which one’s schedule can constantly be changing.
Either we have shift work like factory workers and us personal trainers or we simply don’t know how our day is going to be at all if we work as a nurse or perhaps a reporter.
If its the first scenario and we have shifts that change then it is still the same concept as for the 9 to 5’ers out there.
We should know with some reasonable lead time what our shift will be.
You should still have an off day where you can plan and prep everything.
Nothing changes here.
The second scenario is a little tougher.
If we go to work every day with NO IDEA what that day is going to look like then we must rely on zero and near zero prep foods.
Perfect examples are deli meat, fruits, nuts, and protein powder.
Just anything that you can literally grab and put in your mouth without any steps in between.
It may not be perfect but it will work.
Hope that helps!
I’ll be back tomorrow when the gym is a bit quieter to keep walking you through our training system.
Until then stay fit ;/)
