Big Mistakes I See RegularlyThe biggest mistake I see most is people testing their fitness instead of building it.

Always going to an 11 out of 10 effort to try and get into shape faster.

And I totally understand.

This is America; so more must be better – right?

The problem with always testing our fitness is that we aren’t able to recover from the efforts properly. And recovery is where we actually get into better shape.

Think about it.

If I asked you to run a Marathon and then do as many pushups as possible, how many do you think you would be able to do?

One?!

Maybe Zero!!?!

Now, imagine if I asked you to eat a nice steak dinner and get eight hours of sleep before testing how many pushups you could do. I’m willing to bet it would be significantly more than your Post-Marathon efforts because you are well rest and recovered.

It’s the same concept when working out with a seven out of ten intensity instead of a ten out of ten or higher. Particularly if you are training multiple times per week, multiple weeks in a row for multiple months in a row.

Leaving a little in the tank each workout will allow you to always be well-rested in your next workout so you can achieve long-term success.

In other words; the Turtle beats the Rabbit. Every. Single. Time.
