I always start off my exercise and nutrition routines really strong but inevitably fall back into my old routines and lose all the progress I had just made.
4x’s per week of running becomes 2 because I get busy.
2 becomes 1 and then I think well this isn’t really doing anything so I should just quit only to start the cycle right back over in a few months.
I think the best place to start is with a “low hanging fruit”.
Something that is doable, repeatable, and most importantly sustainable.
For exercise that would be 2 workouts per week; or 100 per year.
Hold yourself TIGHT to THIS goal and say no going back from here.
Once you have kept up with this for 3 to 6 months you can then increase to 3x’s per week should you need to in order to continue your progress.
The important thing is setting yourself up for success and small victories you can build off of instead of an ideal that is terribly easy to fall short of and leave you feeling like a failure.
