Sugar Exposed

We all love sugar.

In fact most of the finest and best things in life are associated with sugar.

We call our loved one “sweetie”, in close relation to the taste we get from sugar.

When Jimmy Graham scores yet another touchdown and dunks over the goalpost ,we say it was a “sweet play”.

Sugar is everywhere.

From the tea that we drink every day to the soda and juices that we love.

Even the fruits that accompany our meals.

Have you ever thought to ask yourself what harm sugar brings into your life?

Despite the sweetness that we get from the product – it is leading many to early graves – much like a kiss from Batman’s nemesis Poison Ivy.

It is even more frustrating when you are trying to shed that unwanted tummy off your body.

If you have never kicked sugar out of your diet, all the hours you spend in the gym and all the miles you run every morning will have limited help in reducing the excessive fats in your body.

In a You Tube Video that went viral (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM), a famous pediatric endocrinologist Dr. Robert Lustig MD clearly explained in a layman’s language how sugar can be dangerous.

It is not just some sugar, according to Dr Lustig.  It is all sugar regardless of the source.

The body does not distinguish between sugars sources, all sugars are the same when it comes to metabolic process.

When you look at most of the problems that afflict modern humans, sugar will be the culprit.

Problems directly related to sugar include but are not limited to:

*talk of high cholesterol

* high blood pressure

*diabetes type 2

*obesity

*metabolic syndrome

*insulin resistance

All these have sugar playing some part in their appearance in the human body.

The main offender is fructose, a component that Dr Lustig describes as toxic once it gets separated from the fibers. When fructose is metabolized in the liver, it only generates fats which are stored in the body.

That’s not all.

Sugar is bad for our hearts; it causing plaque buildup or basically hardening of the arteries, a condition that leads to strokes and heart attacks.

If you are interested in eliminating heart diseases and excessive fat in your body, you have to reconsider sugar consumption. It is recommended that you reduce it to very low levels.

To some people, it ought to be eliminated completely.

Just like we get rid of smoking, we should understand that sugar is equally harmful in our bodies.

The sweet taste produced by this substance later turns out to be bitter

Reducing sugar from our diets is not an easy task, but when you know that what you are doing will enhance your health; you should fight to the end.

It is a herculean task but once the battle has been won, I think you will find that the juice was worth the squeeze….Darn there it is again – fruit juice!
