I got my workout in Sunday just in time to catch the first playoff game.
It wasn’t meant to be that way and far from ideal.
I had planned to get the deadlifts in on Saturday but got caught up with connecting with my main man Gabe Tello and had a wonderful new member I wanted to meet instead.
In the moment, I knew I could either keep our conversation going or cut it short to go hoist some weights and keep my body healthy and epic ;/)
Gabe won out.
My relationships are the most important thing to me. (talking about setting boundaries is a lesson for a different day).
However, I DID make a commitment that NO MATTER WHAT that workout was going to happen before Monday and integrity is doing what you said you would do. Even if you only made that commitment to yourself.
So….there I was Sunday getting it in. Not the ideal situation but it happened.
The plan doesn’t have to be perfect.
It just needs to get done.
“Getting it done” week in and week out is all that matters and the secret at getting good at stuff. It looks a lot like work.
Next time things aren’t perfect instead of thinking about all of the obstacles and what you can’t do, instead think of a solution and what you CAN do based off the situation.
It doesn’t need to be perfect.
It just needs to be done.
